Dental Fillings Aftercare

Eat something soft the remainder of the day.
A clean mouth heals faster. However, be gentle in cleaning the area of your fillings for 24 to 48 hours.
You might experience tooth sensitivity or soreness for a period of time.
If your fillings feel “high”, please call us to have your bite adjusted. It is important that the teeth meet together correctly. A “high” filling can cause your tooth to be very sensitive and could cause the filling to break.
Take Aspirin, Tylenol, Advil, Ibuprofen or Nuprin before the anesthetic wears off, and as needed for discomfort.
For children, watch closely to make sure they don’t bite or chew on their tongue or lip before the anesthetic wears off. (About 1-1/2 to 3 hours)
